The family of 10 - four adults and six goslings - were seen in Woodston at Morley Way, before making their way onto the Nene Parkway.

Drivers stopped to let the unusual road block cross safely.

Daral Brennan, who witnessed the incident, said: “I stopped my vehicle (along with several other considerate drivers who also stopped theirs) to allow them safe passage across the busy roundabout with the junction of Morley Way and the Nene Parkway.

“This is a busy road with plenty of lorries using it all day, so their safety was a concern.

“I can only imagine they were trying to get to the water at Orton Mere which is near by. I’m sure they got there safely as the adults seemed to know what they were doing! It brought a smile to everyone watching.”

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said there were delays on the road, but the geese had cross safely.
