A Peterborough man died in a crash on the M6 near Rugby.

Warwickshire Police are now appealing for witnesses following the collision which occurred on Friday evening on the M6.

The incident took place at around 6pm, Friday May 15, on the M6 Southbound between junction 1 at Rugby and the M1/A14 interchange at Cathorpe.

The collision involved a silver VW Golf and a white Scania car transporter vehicle. The driver of the car transporter sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Golf, a 41-year-old man from Peterborough sustained fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to it. Anyone with any information is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident 286 of 15th May 2015.
