When a Spitfire will be flying over Peterborough City Hospital today

A legendary Spitfire aircraft will fly over Peterborough City Hospital this afternoon in a tribute to NHS staff on the anniversary of the start of the Battle of Britain.

The specially liveried aircraft - with ‘Thank U NHS’ emblazoned on its wings has been flying over hospitals and NHS sites in recent weeks.

Today (Juy 10) the aircraft will fly over Peterborough at 3.26pm after taking off from Duxford at 3pm, flying over Northampton General Hospital at 3.15pm, and then going on to Queen Elizabeth Hospital at King’s Lynn at 3.36pm.

Timings are subject to some variations depending on conditions.

The Aircraft Restoration Company, a family-owned firm who restore vintage aircraft and are based at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford and will start its journey from Duxford Airfield at 10 am this morning with flights over sites including Basildon, Dartford and NHS Nightingale.
