The Ven Hugh McCurdy said of Bill: “Bill had a great love of theology, and this was reflected in his sermons which were profound and at the same time accessible. Bill was a compassionate, caring priest who would often spend long times sitting with people in their sorrow and grief.

"The congregation is deeply shocked at Bill’s death and it is clear that they held him in high regard as a friend and as a priest.”

Details of the funeral are yet to be finalized, and attendance may be limited owing to Covid-19 restrictions.
