Stagecoach gets wealth and jobs campaign out on to the roads of Peterborough.

The travel giant, which runs its fleet across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, has backed a new Chamber of Commerce drive to encourage businesses to champion economic growth at home and overseas.

Colourful branding for Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce’s Local Business Champion programme will adorn a Stagecoach bus for the next three months.

John Bridge, the chamber’s chief executive, said: “The initiative is all about local businesses working together to promote and drive our economy forward, and the support from Stagecoach has been amazing in helping to get our message to businesses and individuals across the county.”

The Local Business Champion campaign was launched three months ago in an effort to forge new partnerships to generate growth for individual businesses as well as the local economy- especially in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Within a week of its launch, some 3,000 businesses had signed up to be business champions.
