But as Sacrewell announced it would be closed for 12 weeks due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the Easter Bunny had a lot of eggs and no one to give them to.

So instead he hopped around Peterborough on Easter Sunday with head of visitor operations and marketing, Jack Pishhorn, to deliver the eggs to key workers across the city.

Jack said: “We visited Peterborough City Hospital, Thorpe Wood Police Station, Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and Stanground Fire Station to deliver thousands of eggs to key workers across the area. We felt that in the current climate it was the least we could do.

“The eggs had already been delivered and we couldn’t send them back, so instead we gave them to people who we thought deserved them as they’re working so hard to keep us safe over the Easter bank holiday.”

General Manager Lee Scowen added: “We hope all our wonderful visitors stayed safe at home this Easter and we can’t wait to welcome them all back to the farm very soon.”
