Peterborough youngster through to final of The Voice Kids

George, aged 11, was chosen by judge Danny Jones (of the band McFly) to go through to next week’s final where the public will vote for the overall winner.

Four finalists will be performing in the final with the winner receiving a £30,000 bursary towards their musical education as well as a family holiday to Orlando courtesy of Universal Studios and Norwegian Air.

George sang Queen’s Radio Ga Ga in Saturday’s (August 22) semi-final and afterwards judge Danny announced: “I just want to say how proud I am of you. You each have your own reasons for doing music, you’ve made this the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. Going through to the final is going to be George.”

Before the semi-final George told the Peterborough Telegraph: “I really appreciate Danny believing in me, putting me through to this stage. I want to put on a big performance.

“You have to practice everyday to get it right, if you want to get through, you need to work hard every day, you can’t miss out even a single day. I’ve been doing vocal warm ups with mum,”

George will face tough competition in the final, to be screened next Saturday (August 29) on ITV 1 at 7.25pm, judge Pixie Lott backed Justine Afante, Paloma Faith selected Dara McNicholl and Will.i.am went with Victoria Alsina.
