Yesterday the college sent a van load of the personal protective equipment (PPE) to local NHS workers yesterday.

A spokesman for the college said: “We are so grateful that we can do something positive at this difficult time – Yesterday we donated all of our PPE to NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG.
“Our health care and NHS workers need as much of this equipment as possible so we were pleased to be able to help in some way.”

A spokesman said: “The Peterborough School has this week donated various items from the School’s science department, such as goggles, disposable gloves, aprons and lab coats, to local hospitals and community groups to support those in the frontline within the NHS with additional protective items.

“Several teachers at the School are also using School sewing machines to make scrubs for healthcare workers which will be donated shortly. The School are continually looking at ways to give back to the local community, and are remaining open over the Easter holidays to continue to support Key Workers with childcare supervision.”
