Online shop launched by Peterborough’s Nene Park Trust

Nene Park Trust has created the virtual shop to give its supporters the chance to browse and buy its products from the comfort and security of their own homes.

Simon Gardner, Visitor Operations Manager, said: “Online retail sales are currently over 50 per cent higher than pre-pandemic levels.

“We know that many people are choosing to shop online to avoid visiting a public environment and wanted to meet increasing demand for different ways to shop.

“Our new online venture ensures that supporters are able to access their favourite items from the security of their own home.”

The shop will feature a selection of products hand-picked from the popular Visitor Centre & Gift Shop at Ferry Meadows.

All proceeds from purchases are invested in maintaining and nurturing Nene Park.

On sale at the online shop will be Nene Park branded souvenirs, local walking and cycling maps, a selection of outdoor and wildlife products, gifts items and binoculars.

And later this month, the election will be enhanced by the inclusion of a Christmas range.

Mr Gardner added: “As part of the Trust’s eco-ambitions, our online shop is designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible with sustainable packaging used at all times.

“Our supplier list features many local businesses, alongside national companies with proven environmental accreditations and practices.

And for those who prefer an in-store shopping experience, the Visitor Centre & Gift Shop is open daily in Ferry Meadows between 10am and 4pm, with full Covid-safety measures in place.
