A “well-intentioned naturalist” was to blame for dogs in Castor becoming ill after bones were left on the grass at the Woodlands Sports Ground.
Belinda Dade (pictured with John Taylor and Kate Peach) saw her black labrador Kiwi suffer with diarrhoea and sickness from swallowing the bones. But she was relieved to find out that the culprit had been located and told not to do it again.
A spokesperson for Standard Life Investments, real estate advisor to the Phoenix Group, which owns the land, said: “This was a case of a well-intentioned naturalist leaving food out for local birds of prey.
“As soon as we learned of the impact this was having on dogs in the area, we asked the individual concerned to stop which has happened. “
