But for hundreds of pupils there was the pressure of performing against other young people from across the city with plenty of trophies up for grabs.

The event was held at the Salvation Army citadel on Friday and Saturday last week with approximately 500 entrants and around 40 to 50 trophies handed out.

The contestants ranged from the age of five all the way to 60 years old with their performances judged by professional adjudicators.
