Freeman honour for councillor Clive

Councillor Clive Thorne is to become the very first Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Yaxley in recognition of his outstanding service to the village as an elected councillor for 40 years.

The honour will be conferred at a special meeting of the Parish Council to be held at 7.00pm on June 7 at the Council Chambers, The Amenity Centre, Main Street. All are welcome to attend.

Councillor Kevin Gulson, Chairman of Yaxley Parish Council, said: “Forty years continuous service as an elected representative is a truly remarkable milestone. Parish Council members wanted to do something to recognise these many years of faithful and devoted service to our local community and although it’s only an honorary title, granting Clive the Freedom of the Parish is the highest honour we can bestow.”
