The owner of Linfords in Market Deeping, Chris Pithey, said any child in the Deeping area who normally has school meal vouchers can get free fish and chips over half term starting on Monday (October 26).

He said: “With the recent decision to not provide food vouchers for children during half term, we wanted to do our bit for our local community, so that every child can eat.

“We though it was something that was needed. We won’t be asking for any proof we will take it on trust.

“If there is a need sometimes people don’t speak about it. Everyone has had such a difficult, stressful year we wanted to make sure that children who need it get a free meal.

“In these times we think it’s important to help the local community when we can.”

A free kids meal is available for any child that would normally have a food voucher.
