The Emporium would bring together wedding suppliers from all over the country under one roof in a prime city centre venue.

Organisers say it would create a unique experience for couples planning their big day.

The Emporium is the brainwave of Laura Hopkins and Gavin Hopkins, whose business Elegant Design has been providing a wedding and events décor service for four years.

Laura said: “We are actively seeking more suppliers to come on board with us.

“This will be an exciting destination where couples will enjoy a VIP treatment from a number of suppliers.

“It’s a great opportunity for local businesses to get a presence in the city.

“It’s also a way for those outside of Peterborough to expand here.

“Suppliers can base themselves at the Wedding Emporium or use it as a second site to complement an existing location.”

The Wedding Emporium will open in January.

It will allow businesses offering wedding services to have a prime location, without having to rent dedicated premises.

Laura added: “The Wedding Emporium will make it simple for couples to meet vetted, recommended suppliers all under one roof.

“The showroom will take couples on a journey through the wedding planning process, introducing them to partners offering a range of wedding services.”

The vision is for a unique wedding showroom where couples will be able to access everything, they need in one place, with superb coordination across suppliers.

Regular events will be held to create further connections with couples. Suppliers will also feature on the Wedding Emporium’s website, client portal, brochure and social media posts, helping them to reach even more potential customers.

Elegant Design was formed after Laura and Gavin had a poor experience when organising their own wedding.

Laura said: “We found our initial wedding décor supplier to be very unsatisfactory, so we decided to do it ourselves.

“We enjoyed it so much, so we started our business to help other couples achieve the wedding they want.

“Many of the couples we have worked with on wedding décor have told us how hard it has been to find reputable suppliers.

“For everything from flowers to catering, the story is the same: people are struggling to find what they need.”

Laura and Gavin are inviting suppliers to get in touch via email: [email protected] or call 07828 432 679 to discuss opportunities to become a partner of the Wedding Emporium.
