Coronavirus: Five deaths in a single day recorded at hospitals run by Peterborough health trust

Five deaths of people with Covid-19 were recorded on a single day in hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

The trust runs Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital which are both treating patients with coronavirus.

The latest figures released by NHS England show that the number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 at the hospitals has risen by six to 62, with five people dying on Thursday.

The figures do not show which of the two hospitals the patients died at.

At least two people with the virus have died at one of the hospitals every day for the past 11 days.

According to the latest figures, the number of people with Covid-19 who have died at hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours was 847.

The total number of deaths since the crisis began has now hit 14,567.

In Peterborough, 113 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The figure is 441 in Cambridgeshire, 531 in Lincolnshire and 784 in Northamptonshire.
