Coronavirus: Find out which essential retailers will be open at Peterborough Queensgate during lockdown

Managers at Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough have unveiled plans for a partial closure during the second national Covid-19 lockdown.

Stores and restaurants at Queensgate will be partially closed during the month-long lockdown with only essential retailers, stores operating Click and Collect services and restaurants offering takeaways and deliveries operating under government guidelines.

In addition, the centre’s Blue car park will remain open from 5am to 11.30pm each day with normal charges applying.

However, the Yellow, Red and Green car parks will be closed until further notice.

Mark Broadhead, Centre Director, said: “We will be working throughout the lockdown to ensure Queensgate, its retailers and restaurants can re-open safely once the lockdown has lifted and in line with the guidelines implemented at the time.

“Whilst the centre itself will remain open until 7pm daily for access, some of our retailers have extended their opening hours and will be open from 9am to 7pm until Wednesday, November 4.

“Shoppers are advised to check the specific opening times with each independent retailer.”

The essential retailers that will remain open from Thursday, November 5 are:

Boots- access via its Long Causeway entrance.

9am – 5.30pm Monday – Saturday

10am - 4.30pm Sunday

Superdrug and M&S Food Hall- access via Queen Street doors.

9am – 5.30pm Monday- Saturday

10am – 4.30pm Sunday

Vision Express and The Oculist- appointment only. Access via Westgate.

Food retailers who will be offering a takeaway and delivery service only include McDonalds, Burger King, Costa and Krispy Kreme.

Mr Broadhead added: “If visiting Queensgate, please follow our existing coronavirus safety measures, including wearing facemasks at all times, maintaining two-metre social distancing, and washing hands regularly and thoroughly.

“Hand sanitiser stations will remain in place during the lockdown. Our carpark will be open as well.”
