Coronavirus: Death total at hospitals run by Peterborough health trust passes 50

The number of patients at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital with coronavirus who have died has passed the 50 mark.

The latest NHS England figures show the number of fatalities at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has hit 54 - six more than the figure announced on Tuesday.

The number of people to have tested positive for coronavirus in Peterborough is currently 108.

In Cambridgeshire, the figure is 408, while there have been 767 confirmed cases in Northamptonshire and 503 in Lincolnshire.

Across the UK, 761 people with coronavirus have died in hospital in the past 24 hours.

The total number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths in hospitals is 12,868, while the total number of lab-confirmed UK cases of the virus is 98,476.
