Cambridgeshire Police guide to Line of Duty lingo

The show has gathered millions of fans over the first five series, as the team from AC-12 hunt out ‘bent coppers’ (as Hastings would say).

Whether bringing down ‘The Caddy’ or hunting for ‘H,’ the drama has taken viewers into the mirky world of organised crime, as well as introducing the country to undercover operations and the famous interview room at AC-12’s HQ.

But the other thing the show has become famous for is the range of police acronyms and jargon used - with viewers not being spoon-fed their meanings.

Thankfully, Cambridgeshire Police have published a list of terms used by their officers - so should you ever be questioned about what they mean (by an officer at least one rank senior, of course) you will be able to know your CHIS from your SOCO, why an officer has obvs on a TL, and why a sus may be found on the PNC.
