SWANNY'S WORLD OF SPORT: Murray puts the Great into Britain
The argument is surely over. Andy Murray is the undisputed greatest active British sportsman.
He won’t ever be world number one in tennis, but then he has been battling against three of the greatest players to have ever graced the sport and he’s still managed to win two Grand Slams, reach multiple finals and win the Davis Cup on his own.
He was at it again last weekend when passion, class and a burning desire to win for his country were all in evidence as Great Britain saw off Japan in the top tennis team tournament.
His patriotism is beyond any reasonable doubt and that’s a big factor in making him my favourite sportsman to watch.
I’ll list my top 10 active British sportsmen next week. Let me know who you think should be included.
