Manchester City remain superior to Liverpool, the Pogba puzzle, Gerrard's latest slip, and Formula One brings sport into disrepute again

Notwithstanding the result of Sunday's big game, I make Manchester City favourites to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title.

City are a team. They have no selfish players which is why they score so many tap ins. They always look for the extra pass to a better placed teammate, even without Kevin De Bruyne.

In contrast Liverpool’s fab three strike force all chase the personal glory of scoring great goals and star man Mo Salah appears to have lost the knack entirely.

I can understand why Paul Pogba wants to move to Barcelona, but I fail to see why Barcelona would want to sign an overrated prima donna with a penchant for trouble making.

GERRARD’S LATEST SLIP

I wonder if Steve Gerrard regrets his decision to become Rangers manager. They are useless and have as much chance of finishing above Celtic (pretty much the only job requirement) as Cardiff City have of winning the Premier League.

A SHAMEFUL ‘SPORTING’ ACT

I see Formula One brought sport into disrepute as Mercedes manipulated the result of the Russian Grand Prix at the weekend. At least ‘winner’ Lewis Hamilton appeared ashamed at taking the chequered flag first after teammate Valtteri Bottas was ordered to make way. Hamilton is miles clear of his only rival for the Driver’s Championship. The need to manufacture a result to extend that lead wasn’t entirely obvious, It was a shameful act.
