LETTER: Nene Park Trust thanks '˜wonderful community' for raising £6,000 after damage by vandals
We are writing to express our thanks to our visitors, volunteers, our contractors and many others who have been so generous and supportive over a really tough few weeks.
We would also like to thank Peterborough Telegraph and the local media generally, for so quickly and accurately reporting the recent damage caused by vandalism in Nene Park to memorial benches, signs, trees and most upsetting, the children’s play areas in Ferry Meadows.

Hide AdNene Park Trust is a charity with limited resources and therefore such mindless damage has been hard to cope with financially and very difficult for our team, who are so proud of the work that they do every day in the Park.
The overwhelming generosity of our friends and visitors has raised over £6,000 to help us to quickly repair the most recent damage caused by the vandals, we have been equally overwhelmed by the offers of technical know-how and materials needed to repair some of the damage and to install additional CCTV and security measures.
We would particularly like to thank the team at Dalrod who have worked so hard and so generously to help us repair the Lakeside play area.
Your support has quickly reinvigorated our resolve to continue to provide excellent facilities for all to enjoy and has demonstrated to us what a wonderful community we live and work in.
Once again, our sincere thanks.
