Five-time Olympian Mark Foster was the guest speaker at the first Peterborough SportsAid lunch of 2015.
The multi-medal winning swimmer shared an insight in to his illustrious sporting career as well as entertaining the guests with interesting anecdotes and stories from his time competing for GB.
The lunch was held from 1-3pm on Friday, April 24 at the Holiday Inn in Thorpe Wood, Peterborough.
The lunches are organised by Living Sport, in support of Peterborough SportsAid, as a fundraiser to generate grants for talented young sports people across Peterborough who have the potential to achieve great things in the future.
Para-swimmer Jaxon Simmons (14) a City of Peterborough Swimming Club junior competing at a national standard, was the chosen grant recipient this time and was presented a cheque by Mark to assist with the costs for training and attending competitions.
The next lunch is being held on Friday July 10 at the Holiday Inn again and will have former England test cricketer and national selector Geoff Miller OBE as the guest speaker.
Individuals tickets to the lunch are available at £29.50 each or organisations can book a table of 10 for £260.00 by contacting Living Sport on 01487 841559 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Peterborough SportsAid is also looking for local organisations to become lunch sponsors and supporters with a range of benefits available.
