Olympic star Louis Smith will bring Christmas magic to Peterborough as he turns on the festive lights next month.
The Eye gymnast - who is currently competing in the World Championships in Glasgow - will have the honour of starting the Christmas celebrations in his home city on Saturday, November 14.
Louis will switch the lights on in Cathedral Square at 5pm, when he will be joined by Mayor of Peterborough Cllr John Peach.
Entertainment will begin earlier in the afternoon which will include local bands and individual performances, including actors and actresses from shows over at the Broadway.
Following the switch on residents are invited to meet Louis at the Town Hall to buy his calendar and get it signed).
The Mayor’s charities will also be staging a mulled wine and mince pie event to raise funds for good causes.
