Police in the Fenland area had a busy new year with nine people being held at the area’s police investigation centre overnight.

In a post on the Fenland police Twitter feed yesterday morning, officers said three were being held for assault, three for criminal damage, two for other minor offences and one for a breach of bail.

Emergency crews were also called to a two-vehicle crash on Barton Road, Wisbech, shortly before noon on New Year’s Day.

Police said no injuries were reported, but paramedics were called to check the drivers of both vehicles.
