Werrington Village News in Church Street has rebranded as At Last with the official opening taking place on Saturday.

And there has been no rest for engaged couple and owners David Mitchell and Marie Tweedie who carried out the conversion themselves in their spare time.

David said: “The response has been incredible. There’s been someone in here all the time it’s been open - we’ve only had five minutes’ rest.”

The couple sing in the band Soul Runners, and there is plenty of soul music and songs from the 40s and 50s playing in the shop for customers to enjoy.

David and Marie are grateful to local residents who have been handing out vintage tea pots to add to the retro feel. And with the conversion complete the couple can now start planning their next adventure - their wedding in Las Vegas later this year.
