An evening of music will take place at Stamford Corn Exchange tonight (Thursday) to help raise funds for a young widower from Stamford who is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in memory of his late wife, Michelle.
Jack Beniston, 22, is taking on a Sue Ryder trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in memory of Michelle, who spent her last few days being cared for at Thorpe Hall Hospice in Longthorpe, Peterborough.
Jack, who launched his fundraising appeal in February, has already raised in excess of £2,300 for Thorpe Hall who cared for his wife Michelle, who sadly passed away in October last year.
Tonight’s concert will include performances from local singers and bands, including Jack’s former school’s band and choir and even a performance from Jem’s Hip Hop.
There will also be a live auction and raffle on the night, including a chance to win a fully signed Man City shirt.
All of the funds raised from the concert will go towards Jack’s new fundraising target of £5,000, which he hopes to reach by December - when he will take on the trek.
A few tickets are still available on the door for £5.50 or by calling 01780 766455.
Doors open at 6.30pm.
