Colin Pope, 56, of Doddington Road, Wimblington, was sentenced yesterday (March 8) at Cambridge Crown Court.

The court heard how officers executing a warrant at his home, on May 13 last year, found 12,300 indecent images of children on digital devices.

The evidence obtained during the investigation also revealed Pope had been committing acts of voyeurism with a hidden camera he had placed in a victim’s bathroom as well as secretly recording women and teenage girls in public without their knowledge.

Pope made a full admission during his police interview to the charges, which included, two counts of possession of indecent images of children, two counts of making indecent images of children, one count of voyeurism and one count of outraging public decency.

Detective Constable Lloyd Metselaar said: “I want to make it clear to anyone seeking out this material on the internet that it is not simply an image.

“Every one of these images and videos captures a child being sexually abused or exploited.
