Man braves the chill for charity
David Moore (32) of Whiteacres, Whittlesey, has gone for a freezing New Year’s Day dip in Scotland and climbed the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales to fundraise for Magpas.
David’s dad Greg passed away aged 59 on March 1, 2015, despite the best efforts of Magpas, after collapsing at Ramsey Golf Club. Greg, also of Whiteacres, died from Ischaemic Hypertensive Heart Disease where a valve in his heart became clogged up and stopped working.

David took on the ‘Loony Dook’ Festival in Edinburgh, where swimmers ‘enjoy’ a freezing swim in the River Forth. That was followed by a climb of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just under 29 hours which has raised around £2,500.
A skydive and the half-marathon Great Eastern Run are next on David’s agenda. To donate, visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/davidjmoore83/.
