The Magpas Air Ambulance service welcomed members of the local Amazon team to its Wyton Airfield base as part of an on-going partnership that has seen the Peterborough fulfilment centre donate over £2,300 to Magpas in the last few years.

The latest donation was made to Magpas as part of Amazon’s local community support programme and will be used by the charity to continue offering its air ambulance service to people in the East of England and beyond.

The money was delivered to the airfield by members of the charity committee from the Peterborough fulfilment centre.

Amazon’s Peterborough Site Leader Lee Shepherd said: “The Magpas Air Ambulance is a lifeline to the people in Cambridgeshire and beyond and we’re happy to continue our support of the charity with this latest donation. The Amazon team really enjoyed visiting the airfield to learn more about the great work that Magpas does to help people in our community.”

James Holden, from Magpas Air Ambulance, added: “Magpas Air Ambulance brings crucial lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond. The charity relies on generous public donations to continue saving lives so this latest donation from Amazon is very welcome by all at the charity. The team at Amazon in Peterborough has been incredibly supportive of Magpas since we moved to RAF Wyton and I’d like to say a big thank you to Lee and the team.”
