Across all 132 students, with 397 A-Level grades amongst them, the pass rate rate was 99.5 per cent.

64 per cent of all A Level grades were grade B or better. 31.2 per cent were grade A or better and, impressively, 10% of all A-Level grades were at the very highest A* level.

The school’s Year 12 students, who take AS examinations at the end of their first year in the sixth form, produced exceptional results which augur well for their A-Levels.They are in a very strong position as they work on their university applications over the coming months. Improving even on last year’s strong AS results, this year’s are especially pleasing as they are the first that our students have obtained under the new, considerably more demanding, linear A-Level courses.

Bourne Grammar’s headteacher Jonathan Maddox said: “It really was a joy to see the students collect their results this morning. Year after year our students achieve A-Level results amongst the very best anywhere because they are bright, well-motivated and extremely well taught. They work hard and enjoy doing so in the company of like-minded peers. I hope that all will enjoy the rest of the summer, celebrating their success with their friends and families. They leave us in great shape to take on the many challenges ahead.”
