Kids eye up revamped opticians

The Mayor of Peterborough attended the reopening of Boots Opticians at Queensgate which now includes a children's area and a little reading corner.

Councillor David Sanders cut the ribbon and took part in a reading session at the store last week.

The opticians is in partnership with the National Literacy Trust.

Sally Atkinson, manager of the National Literacy Trust Hub in Peterborough, said: “It’s been wonderful to see such enthusiasm from the staff at Boots Opticians who really want to make a difference in their community. Families have really enjoyed meeting the mayor and I would like to thank the wonderful staff from Vivacity’s library and museums team who enthralled children with their stories.”
