Hundreds of residents in the south of Peterborough have been hit by power cuts this afternoon (Wednesday) following a cable fault.
More than 500 residents in Hampton and Yaxley reported power outages this afternoon.
Some residents had their power restored quickly, but others are still without power.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “UK Power Networks engineers are on site working as quickly and safely as possible following a fault on the electricity network in the Yaxley area.
“At around 14.22pm this afternoon 529 customers would have seen an interruption to their power supplies following an underground cable fault. Power to 231 customers were restored around 3pm but we are working hard to get the remaining customers back on to supply.
“We understand how difficult it can be to be without power and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
