Horse dies after crash in Wisbech

A horse had to be put down following a crash on the outskirts of Wisbech last night (Sunday, August 16).

The horse was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Vectra on Elm High Road at 10.20pm.

Firefighters from Wisbech and West Walton helped to release the trapped female driver, who suffered a broken arm.

A vet was called and the horse was put down at the scene.

Police closed Elm High Road from the A47 roundabout during the incident. It re-opened at 12.20am.
