Peterborough City Council’s Community tuck shop has raised an impressive £620 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Peterborough City Hospital.

Every three months the Community tuck shop change their charity of choice to a different local organisation, and with a few people on their staff who have received support from them, for this quarter they decided the NICU was a good cause.

Adrian Chapman, service director for adult services and communities at Peterborough City Council said: “The tuck shop has proved a real hit with staff and we’re delighted with its success. A number of colleagues have some sort of personal connection to the various charities we raise funds for - it is great to show our support for the fabulous work they do.”

Kate Rivett, neonatal nurse manager, was thrilled to receive the donation, and knew exactly what it would be put towards - the expansion of their Developmental Care Programme, which provides equipment to help enhance very premature babies’ development and minimise the stress of their environment.
