The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been ranked as one of the top training units in the country.

The department was named the fourth in the country, out of 159 units, in the ‘Overall Satisfaction with Training Post’ domain. It was also ranked second in the Eastern Region. The survey is conducted amongst specialist trainees once a year by the General Medical Council.

The team has worked very hard over the past year to organise and provide excellent training opportunities and are pleased that this effort has reaped results.

Stephen Havenga, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Associate Clinical Director for Maternity, said: “Over the last couple of years, we have worked very hard together to focus upon making our unit as attractive to trainees as possible as we strive to become a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Training. We feel this survey ranking is testimony to the hard work of the entire team.”
