A mother of two from Bourne has praised the work of the paediatric research team at Peterborough City Hospital, after her young daughter took part in a majorstudy for diabetes.
Rachel Dudley (8) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago, which was a frightening prospect for both her and her family.
Last year she was given the opportunity to take part in a research study which was being run at the hospital as well as other sites across the country, and she was keen to take part and help other children in the future.
Rachel’s mother, Sarah Dudley (43) said: “Type 1 diabetes and it is a horrible long-term illness.
“The care and support from the hospital has been fantastic.”
