Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) announced the expanded service today which will cover all patients registered at a GP practice in the area by October 2018.

The CCG has been working with groups of local practices so they can work together to improve access for patients.

The service has been running in Peterborough since last year, but will now cover the whole county.

Patients should contact their GP practice to get an appointment, which needs to be in booked in advance.

Dr Gary Howsam, CCG chair, said: “We understand that people cannot always go to see their GP during standard working hours, so we are expanding local services to help more people get access to the right person, providing the right care, in the right place at the right time.

“From October there will be more pre-bookable appointments locally. Appointments may not be at your usual practice, but if you talk to a receptionist they can help you find the right service and at a time that works best for you where possible.”
