Green Flag hoisted up at park
A Green Flag was placed at Victoria Gardens to celebrate its achievement in being recognised as one of the best parks in the country.
Councillors for Park Ward, members of the Victoria Park Residents’ Association, head of streetcare at Amey, Chris Jackson, and Councillor Gavin Elsey, cabinet member for digital, waste and street scene at Peterborough City Council, were there on Tuesday to raise the flag.
Central Park, Itter Park and Manor Farm Park have also received Green Flags.
The award, now in its 20th year, recognises the best parks and green spaces across the country. Central Park has now received Green Flag status for 14 consecutive years while Itter Park has received it 10 times.
