As part of their ongoing partnership with local charity Little Miracles, Peterborough Rugby Club (PRUFC) will be holding a charity afternoon on Saturday alongside their ever popular Past Players pre match lunch.

The first team will wear a specially designed shirt during their match against Leicester Forest. The shirt has been designed by 5-year-old Jessica Bailey who attends the Peterborough Little Miracles Centre. Jessica will be the team mascot for the match and will wear the specially designed shirt.

Afterwards the shirts will be auctioned and it is hoped to raise a substantial amount of funds for the charity.

Michelle King, Chief Executive Officer of Little Miracles, said: “Jessica is really looking forward to the day. She is an energetic 5 year old who loves ice cream, unicorns, and rainbows. The shirt will reflect these things.”

PRUFC Vice Chairman Archie Bennett added: “The players have not seen the shirt yet and it we are keeping them guessing as to how it looks.

“The main aim is that we raise as much money as possible for our adopted charity.

“The shirts have a reserve of £30 on them but we are hoping that the shirts will fetch much more than that.

“With plenty of past players in attendance we are hoping that they will donate generously. During the event volunteers from Little Miracles will be doing a bucket collection.”

The match will take place at Second Drove, Fengate, Peterborough at 3pm, with the shirt auction scheduled for 5.30pm.
