The family ask for no flowers but if you are willing to provide a donation towards the upkeep of the cathedral it will be warmly received and provide a permanent legacy to Dereck and his life here in Peterborough.

Dereck was renowned across Peterborough for the running of Brown’s Dancentre, in Lincoln Road, Millfield, where he taught countless students alongside wife Edna.

He passed away peacefully last Sunday (July 24) aged 88.

Tributes have been flooding in ever since, including from Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman.
