Fun-filled day at Sport Bash

Enjoy a fantastic family day out at this year's BGL Sport Bash, taking place today (Friday, July 29) at Stamford School playing fields from 11.30am.

Featuring free activities, live music and a star-studded cricket spectacle, including a host of former international greats taking to the field, this is set to be a major event for the town, raising funds for a host of good causes.

Gates open today at 11.30am, with visitors encouraged to try their hand at the climbing wall, potholing, archery, a bungee run and a 45m inflatable assault course.

Leicester Tigers will be bringing with them their roadshow vehicle, The Maul, the tackle bag and team mascot Welford. All activities are included in the admission price and if rain stops play, visitors get a full refund on their entry price.

Ongoing entertainment throughout the day compromises of the Humberts Cup Kwik Cricket competition, a skydiving display, street performers and music provided by cover band Children of the Revolution.

A host of refreshments, sourced by the finest local food and drink vendors will be available to purchase throughout the day.

Not forgetting the main event, a 20/20 cricket showpiece with a Dean Headley XI competing against a Local Legends XI.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £7.50 for children.
