The leader of Fenland District Council, John Clark, has been found to have breached the authority’s code of conduct.
The verdict was reached during a meeting of the council’s conduct committee in March last Tuesday afternoon.
A formal public notice detailing the judgement against him has now been published.
It said: “The Conduct Committee of Fenland District Council have upheld a complaint brought by Mr Alan Gowler into the conduct of Councillor John Clark in relation to his disclosure of confidential information provided to him in his role as a Councillor.
“In considering the complaint Conduct Committee determined that Councillor Clark did breach the Member Code of Conduct at 4.1 ‘you must not disclose information given to you in confidence by anyone, or information acquired by you which you believe, or ought reasonably to be aware, is of a confidential nature’.”
