Hide AdToday a spokesman for Peterborough City Council said: “Due to high demand for the bulky waste collection service which resumed on 21 Sept, we are no longer able to take any further requests for quotes while we deal with the backlog. All requests to date will be carried out and we are working hard to get through these asap.”
When the service was re-started, Councillor Marco Cereste, cabinet member for waste, street scene and the environment, said: “The service offers our residents a cost-effective way to get rid of their household waste and we can guarantee the waste will be disposed of correctly.
“We have been eager to bring back this service for a while and I am delighted that procedures are now in place to start this again. We hope this, coupled with the household recycling centre, will make it easier for residents to dispose of their bulky household waste.”
When the service re-starts, call 01733 747474 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) to pay with your debit or credit card over the phone.
