Five men arrested in Peterborough during a dawn swoop by four police forces last Wednesday are facing £1m burglary conspiracy charges.

Five men arrested in Peterborough during a dawn swoop by four police forces last Wednesday are facing 1m burglary conspiracy charges.Peterborough men Geoffrey Manning (32), of Oxney Road, Wesley Smith (25), of Palmer's Road, John Smith (34), of Edgerley Drain Road, Jason Bingley (28) and Ross Drew (35) both of East Water Crescent, Hampton Vale, were all charged with conspiracy to commit burglaries between January 1, 2006 and October 30 2007 to a value of just under 1m.

Manning, Wesley Smith and John Smith were remanded in custody when they appeared before Grantham magistrates. Bingley and Drew were released on conditional bail.

The men were arrested following a raid by police officers from Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.
