Schoolchildren were taken back in time to learn about life during the war.
Fulbridge Academy in New England held a 1940s’ themed party at the Peterborough Parkway Social Club last week.
Some of the primary school children and teachers dressed in period costume for the event, as part of their topic of war.
The idea of the event was also to give the youngsters an idea of what it was like to be a pensioner in today’s society, and the pupils took part in a range of activities, including playing bingo.
As part of the day, the children listed to a talk from Dr Modha about certain health conditions.
School governor and former Peterborough City Councillor Charles Swift OBE - who was the country’s longest serving councillor when he retired - also gave a presentation about local history, and took part in dancing during a number of performances.
