It was party time for one primary school as it celebrated 50 years since opening its doors.
William Hildyard Church of England Primary and Nursery School in Market Deeping had a series of activities to mark the occasion, with the children getting to enjoy a huge cake from The Farm Kitchen. There was also a visit from the Bishop of Grantham, the Rt Revd Dr Nicholas Chamberlain.
Executive headteacher Fiona Griffiths said: “It was a wonderful day. We invited guests from each decade the school has been open to say a few words of their memories to the children. The children listened to songs from each of the decades and they very much enjoyed that. They were all very excited and came in their party clothes to celebrate.
“They will have wonderful memories going forward.”
