It may be the first day back at school for most, but not for pupils at one Peterborough campus after a water leak flooded part of the main building.
Queen’s Drive Infant School is closed today, Monday September 7, after a water leak flooded the toilets and a corridor.
The flooding affected a toilet facility area and corridor outside which the young pupils would use.
A spokesman for Peterborough City Council spokesman said: “Queen’s Drive Infants School, in Peterborough, was shut today after a mains water piper under one of the sinks failed, causing water to leak into the school since sometime yesterday (Sunday 6 September) afternoon.
“The pipework has been repaired and the water is now back on, with affected areas cleared of water and drying out this afternoon. The school will reopen tomorrow although some areas may not be accessible.”
