Parnwell Primary School in Peterborough received a literary treat this month after 20 new Kindles, along with a £2,000 cash donation for pupils, was delivered by Amazon fulfilment centre staff at the school’s start of term assembly.
The surprise donation was made by staff from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Peterborough and will support the school’s campaign to improve literacy levels and encourage pupils of all ages to enjoy reading. The £2,000 donation will to go towards the purchase of books and improvement initiatives taking place at the school.
The donation is part of the company’s local community programme.
Headteacher, Janice Butterworth, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the 20 Kindles that Amazon have donated to Parnwell School.”
