A Peterborough pre-school has been given a glowing report by inspectors.
Ofsted has rated Happy Days Playgroup as ‘outstanding’ after visiting on June 30.
The pre-school at the Stafford Hall Community Centre, Hampton Court, Westwood, was praised for its “highly insightful teaching” and “engrossing” outdoor activities.
The report stated that: “Children visibly flourish on entry to the pre-school as they enjoy the stimulating and inviting environment they walk into.”
The report also paid tribute to the work of the staff, highlighting that: “Parents trust the staff to provide children with high-quality care and learning in a safe, stimulating environment.
“Staff work tirelessly to ensure children’s wide-ranging needs are extremely well met to secure the best possible progress for them during their time here.”
Children are said to be kept active and healthy through activities such as snack times and cookery.
The report added that children are “extremely well safeguarded.”
The only possible area given for improvement was to “extend even further the variety of opportunities children have to express their imagination and enjoy sensory experiences.”
The pre-school was established in its current location in 1971. In its previous inspection in 2011 it was rated as ‘good’.
Pre School manager Belinda Fenning said: “We are so proud to have achieved outstanding and I would like to thank our families for all their support.
“I would also like to thank my team for their dedication and hard work.
“I feel so proud to work with people who take every opportunity to support each child’s development, make them feel valued and celebrate their achievements.”
