Nearly one in every 10 grades (9 per cent) at The Peterborough School were Level 9 - the highest possible.
Moreover, 89 per cent of pupils gained five GCSEs at Level 4 or better, including English and maths.
Dyuti Chakraborty excelled by scoring a complete set of Level 9s in all her subjects.
Also performing at an outstanding level were Saranya Das (eight Level 9s and two Level 8s), Thomas Smith (six Level 9s, four Level 8s and one Level 7) and François Van Cauwenbergh (two Level 9s, seven Level 8s and one Level 6).
Headmaster Adrian Meadows praised the pupils for their resilience and hard work. He said: “I am so pleased to see such a tremendous set of results from pupils of all abilities who have coped brilliantly with the tougher exams and removal of coursework and who should all be thoroughly congratulated.”
